I have recently worked with a Reiki Master and have been attuned to Reiki I and Reiki II and I have incorporated Reiki very much into my practise. I absolutely love the giving and receiving of Reiki healing, which provides a space where I like to think you are taken to, somewhere between asleep and awake where you can go and get mended.
I am often asked what Reiki is and it’s quite a difficult question to answer as it’s not really for intellectualising and as I don’t have a personal need to make sense of it in that way, I haven’t really explored how to, although there are scientific books available regarding energy fields.
However, what I can tell you, is that it can cause no harm, it’s non-evasive and it is the transfer or channelling of the Universal Life Force Energy, the infinite energy of the Universe that is transferred from one person to another through something called attunement.
The hands are placed on the body through clothes or not, it doesn’t matter, and the body’s own energy field is rebalanced allowing the body to feel deeply relaxed through this process of gaining harmony within.
The sensation is one of deep relaxation and a feeling of centeredness. It is very soothing and very comforting which forms the basis of the healing process.
It is also completely embedded in pure unconditional love and compassion which in itself paves the way for a deep sense of wellbeing and connectedness.
